Active listening is more than hearing words. It means tuning into the client’s emotions, energy, pauses, and the meaning behind what is not being said. When a coach listens actively, they are fully present with the client’s experience. They notice subtle shifts and reflect back what truly matters, creating a space where clients feel seen, understood, and safe to explore themselves more deeply.

In this webinar, we will explore how to:
-Listen beyond content and into meaning
-Use silence intentionally to deepen awareness
-Reflect, summarize, and mirror in ways that move the conversation forward

Mastering active listening strengthens the coaching partnership and supports the client in accessing their own wisdom. It is one of the essential foundations of a transformative coaching conversation.

Harmen van Dijk

Harmen holds a master’s degree in both international and civil law and subsequently worked as a diplomat for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bolivia, Berlin and The Hague respectively. In 2014 he completed his coach training at MMS Worldwide institute (ICF-accredited ) which sparked his passion for coaching. As a coach he specialized in coaching in nature and facilitated numerous transformational leadership trails in the Austrian Alps with OakTreeMe. Currently Harmen is a lead trainer of OaktreeMe Academy.

Songül Balaban

Songül has a BA in Economics and an MBA in International Management. With over 20 years of experience in the financial sector and business consulting, she has led teams and managed portfolios of multinational companies engaged in global trade. She brings her corporate background and business acumen to her work with professionals, senior executives, and leaders. She is also completing her training in systemic team coaching, expanding her ability to support teams and organisations. In addition to Executive and Leadership Coaching, Songül is a facilitator for OakTreeMe’s trainings and workshops.
